A heavier base pad drops the magazine cleanly on release and closes the magwell funnel at the bottom when a magwell is fitted. The G24 is the long-slide competition Glock in .40 S&W, using the G22 frame and magazine. Base pad compatibility between the G22 and G24 is shared -- they use the same .40 S&W double-stack magazine. For G24 shooters in Open or class-specific .40 S&W formats, the base pad is part of the complete reload setup.
